These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Outwise, the AI safety briefing service operated by LAS SAFETY LTD (“LAS SAFETY LTD”, “we”, “us”), a private limited company registered in Scotland under number SC449606, with registered office at 9 Middleton Drive, Largs, KA30 9JN, Scotland.
By creating an account, accessing the website at lassafety.com, or using Outwise, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using the service you confirm you have read, understood, and accepted the AI Disclaimer and the Acceptable Use Policy, and that you take personal responsibility for your decisions in the field.
2. Account, security & access
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
- You may not share, sell, or sublicense your account, and may not access the service via automated means without our prior written consent.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
3. The service
Outwiseprovides AI-generated trip briefings, gear/risk packets, and short briefing videos (collectively, “Outputs”). Outputs are indicative and do not constitute professional rescue training, guide service, medical advice, or travel insurance. See the AI Disclaimer for full scope.
4. Fees, billing & cancellation
- Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (“Stripe”), our payment processor. LAS SAFETY LTD is the merchant of record for all sales of Outwise plans and credit packs; Stripe processes card data and handles tax computation on our behalf, but does not provide the underlying service. Prices are listed on /pricing and exclude applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout.
- Auto-renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from /app/billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period unless you elect immediate cancellation, in which case access ceases immediately and unused credits are forfeited.
- Credit packs are one-time purchases. Credits added to your balance are usable until you change plans; they do not roll into a new tier and have no cash value.
- See the Refund Policy for refund eligibility.
5. Licence to use Outputs
We grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide, non-transferable licence to use Outputs for your own personal trip preparation. Re-sale, public broadcast, or incorporation into commercial guide services requires a separate written licence — see the Content License.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to the Acceptable Use Policy, which prohibits, among other things, unaccompanied-minor high-risk briefings, generation involving regulated weapons or restricted gear, activity in protected areas where prohibited, and resale as a paid guide service unless you are licensed.
7. Warranty disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service and Outputs are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We do not warrant that Outputs are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular trip or purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.
- Our aggregate liability for any direct claim arising under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of (i) the total amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) GBP £100.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LAS SAFETY LTD, its officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any claim, demand, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (i) your use of the service in breach of these Terms, (ii) your acts or omissions during a trip, or (iii) third-party claims related to your conduct in the field.
10. Force majeure
Neither party will be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, internet or telecoms failure, third-party AI provider outage, payment processor outage, government action, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemic, or labour dispute. Affected obligations are suspended for the duration of the event; either party may terminate with notice if the event continues for more than thirty (30) days.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email and on this page at least seven (7) days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
